Every component of our advanced replacement windows is designed to contribute to its performance, durability and energy-saving capability. That includes the often-overlooked “spacers” that separate the low-E glass panels from the frame and from one another.

Many window manufacturers use inexpensive materials for these spacers. That is a mistake. Proper sealing of the frame/glass joint is critical to the thermal performance of the window. Heat can easily escape through poorly sealed gaps, and condensation can creep into the space between glass panes.

The Bristol windows installed by Rescom incorporate the most advanced structural spacers available. The result is a seal that not only creates a barrier against air and moisture, the spacer material itself provides additional thermal protection.

The spacers Bristol builds into its windows are made of a multi-layered laminate composite “sandwich” that incorporates:

• Triple-sided Mylar® vapor barrier
  
• Encapsulated dessicant drying material

• Non-metallic construction to prevent thermal transfer
